What We Do

IDLance is a Learning & Development vendor and Agency+ that helps companies create learning and training materials.

This includes resources like online courses, videos, workshops, toolkits, and job aids. We also offer retainer services, staffing augmentation, project management, and help with planning and strategy. Whether you need something built from scratch or just need extra hands on a project, we can jump in and help.

What’s Agency+? It means we don’t just staff projects, we support the people on them. Our community of 1,600+ freelance professionals gets access to professional development and mentorship, so they’re never working in a vacuum. How It Works

IDLance started as a community for instructional designers who wanted to learn how to freelance. We offered (and still do) training, mentorship, and support, and over time, we built a strong, talented network of learning professionals.

Eventually, companies started asking us, "Can we work with your people on real projects?" And we said, "Absolutely."

Now, IDLance works like an agency, but with a twist. We don’t just hand off projects or randomly assign freelancers from a database. We know our people. We’ve worked with them, mentored them, chatted with them in Slack, and seen how they collaborate. So when you come to us with a project, we hand-pick the right team based on real relationships, not just résumés.

There are a couple of ways we typically work with clients:

  • Project-Based
    We scope out the work, assemble the right team, and manage the whole thing—from kickoff to final delivery. That might mean one ID or a whole crew of 30+, depending on what you need.

  • Retainer-Based (IDLance+)
    You get a set number of hours each quarter to use as needed. One week it might be instructional design, the next week it’s video editing or graphic design. It’s flexible, and we adapt to what you need.

No matter the setup, we stay involved and keep communication clear, so things get done on time, on budget, and without any of the usual vendor weirdness.

How Much It Costs

Our pricing is competitive, but it really depends on what we’re building and how we’re working together.

We typically work in one of two ways:

  • Project-based: You bring us a scoped project (or we help you scope it), and we give you a flat rate.

  • Retainer-based: You get a set number of hours each quarter to use as needed—design, development, video, whatever comes up.

Every client is different, so we build pricing that fits the actual work. Let's say, not bargain-bin cheap and not agency-markup expensive. We price fairly for the quality, experience, and speed we bring to the table. You’re getting vetted professionals, strong project management, and work that actually gets done right.
